The article presents a description of Turkish soft power in
relation to Palestine over the past twenty years. The main organizations,
governmental and public, pursuing Türkiye’s policy in the region in various
fields are considered. For example, construction, humanitarian, spiritual and
trade projects in various Palestinian governorates are listed, carried out with
the participation of Turkish companies and organizations, mainly within the
framework of the activities of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination
Agency, subordinate to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.
The results of the use of soft power in the form of foreign policy and
domestic policy dividends are presented by opinion polls and surveys of the
Arab population in Palestine and neighboring countries on the topic of the
image of Türkiye as a “true democracy” or an “ally of Palestine”. Meeting
these characteristics is one of the main goals of Turkish soft power in relation
to Palestine, because any demonstration of assistance to this state influences
the opinion of the Arab public, which is important in the context of the current doctrine of “neo-Ottomanism”, which the Turkish Republic has been following
for decades.
