The Republic of Turkey has been renewing its foreign policy approaches over the past decades. Some of them proved successful for a certain period, but the rapidly changing global environment forced the country’s leadership to abandon them. A distinct case among the temporary doctrines that have already receded into the past is the “Blue Homeland,” which, based on the shifts in Ankara’s foreign policy course since 2016, has the potential to become a driving force behind Turkey’s emerging strategic subjectivity.
