The article is devoted to the possibilities of applying the systems approach to the analysis of regional subsystems of international relations. It considers the theoretical aspects of applying the systems approach, the terminology of the systems approach, the structure of regional subsystems in the analysis of regional aspects of international relations. The phenomenon of civilizationalization as an increasing role of local civilizational elements and subsystems in global and regional systems and sub systems is scrutinized. These political processes coincided with the rapid growth of re search attention to local civilizations in the 1990–2000s. The article considers the theo retical aspects of applying the systems approach in the analysis of regional aspects of international relations, the structure of regional subsystems of international relations, the increasing political role of civilizations as subsystems of international relations, the structure of global and regional systems (subsystems) in the search for an equilibrium civilizational and geopolitical configuration. Particular attention is paid to modeling of inter-civilizational interactions (on the example of integrative associations of the Greater Eurasia).
