EU Policy on Central Asia Stabilization

Kudryashova D.A.

Abstract

The article examines the interaction between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia in the context of ensuring stability and subsequent development of the region. The author considers the security aspect from the point of view of the security of external and internal borders of states, as well as through the prism of ensuring water security. Special attention is paid to the programs and forums created to support the dialogue between the EU and Central Asia. The author comes to the conclusion that the EU's efforts to stabilize the region are necessary so that the European Union can continue to use the energy and transit resources of the Central Asian countries to obtain its own benefits: diversification of energy suppliers, profitable projects for the production of green energy and cheap transit services.
