The Kurdish factor has traditionally been considered a key factor in
Turkish public and political discourse. For decades, key not only domestic political but
also foreign policy events have been taking place around it. It has become especially
important with the advent of the new XXI century. The ruling and opposition parties use

from different poles of Turkey’s domestic political process. In addition, the article considers
the consequences of such an unprecedented event in the internal political life of
Turkey as the self-dissolution of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which can open additional
opportunities for policy making by the ruling leadership of Turkey.
At the same time, this article also aims to conduct a quantitative and qualitative
analysis of the frequency of references to Kurdish forces by various political forces in
Turkey, the specifics of connotations, as well as to break down specific statements
of politicians in Turkey.
